The EAJS Digital Forum, in collaboration with the Taube Department of Jewish Studies, is pleased to announce the “Digital Mapping Approaches to European Jewish History” workshop. This workshop is part of a series of workshops and seminars by the EAJS Digital Forum designed to respond to DH challenges for European Jewish studies.
This event is designed to empower scholars, including advanced graduate students, with the skills and knowledge necessary to integrate digital mapping into their research. The workshop will offer a comprehensive program that includes lectures, practical sessions, and hands-on experience in digital mapping for European Jewish history. Participants will learn to structure, process, interpret, and visualize geodata while gaining proficiency in mapping tools, including QGIS and ArcGIS Online.

Requirements for participants:
The workshop is open to graduate and Ph.D. students, early career scholars, and practitioners in the educational and cultural spheres who have no or modest prior knowledge of digital mapping or working with geospatial data. The working language of the event is English. Participants need to be (student) members of the EAJS or willing to become a member.

Participant costs
Participation in the workshop is free of charge. The organizers provide accommodation, lunches and refreshments for participants. In case your institution does not cover travel expenses, organizers may consider providing limited travel grants.
