Columbia University’s Institute for Israel and Jewish Studies is proud to announce a post-doctoral fellowship at the rank of Post-doctoral Research Scholar in Jewish Studies for the 2024-2025 academic year. The salary for the fellowship will be $78,540. This fellowship is open to scholars in the field of Jewish Thought/Jewish Philosophy.
Requirements are a Ph.D. granted between January 1, 2020, and June 30, 2024, and an excellent command of Hebrew. Fellows will be expected to be in residence between September 1, 2024 and May 31, 2025, teach one undergraduate course per semester, and give one public lecture and a faculty seminar during their fellowship period.
Please send a letter of application stating how applicant would use the year to further their research (not to exceed 5 pages), curriculum vitae, a writing sample (not to exceed 20 pages), two syllabi for proposed courses, and two reference letters via email to iijs@columbia.edu by midnight on January 1, 2023.
If the Ph.D. has not yet been granted, please also include a letter from the academic sponsor attesting to the fact that it will be granted not later than June 30, 2024. Please do not send any references or any other written materials or attachments.
