Gemäß Call bietet “[d]ie Judaistik an der Freien Universität Berlin […] Studiengänge im Fach Judaistik für den B.A. und M.A. an, ermöglicht die Promotion im Fach Judaistik und beteiligt sich an interdisziplinären Lehrangeboten und Studiengängen im Fachbereich Geschichts- und Kulturwissenschaften (gegenwärtig z.B. Master “Interdisciplinary Studies of the Middle East”). Das Institut ist Mitglied im Netzwerk des Selma-Stern Zentrums für Jüdische Studien Berlin-Brandenburg und betreibt judaistische Forschung und Lehre in Kooperation mit Universitäten in Europa, Israel und den USA. Two Jobs and one Post-Doc Fellowship in Jewish Studies at the University of Vienna

University of California – Santa Barbara – Marsha and Jay Glazer Endowed Chair in Jewish Studies

According to their call, “[t]he Department of Religious Studies at the University of California, Santa Barbara, invites applications for a position at the rank of full or associate professor to fill the Marsha and Jay Glazer Endowed Chair in Jewish Studies. We seek a rigorous and imaginative scholar whose research encompasses one or more of the following specializations: Rabbinic Judaism and Jewish Law in Late Antiquity or the Medieval Period, Medieval Jewish Mysticism and Philosophy, or Mediterranean and Middle Eastern Judaism.”

Assistant Professor of Talmud and Rabbinics

According to their call, “[t]he Judaic Studies Department and the Center for Medieval and Renaissance Studies at Binghamton University invite applications for a tenure-track appointment in Talmud and Rabbinics at the rank of assistant professor. Candidates should demonstrate expertise in the classical Jewish canon from late antiquity through the early Middle Ages, with a preference for the cultural context of the Near East or the eastern Mediterranean. Command of Hebrew and Aramaic is expected, and competence in at least one other relevant language, such as Ancient Greek, Arabic, or Latin, is desirable. A range of methodological approaches is welcome, including Religious Studies, Literary Studies, History, and Philosophy, as well as interdisciplinary approaches. The successful candidate will be expected to contribute courses on the Bible in its historical context, rabbinic texts, and early Jewish history.”
