Job: Assistant Professor of Middle Eastern History, United States Naval Academy

The History Department at the United States Naval Academy invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professor specializing in Middle Eastern history. Candidates must have a Ph.D. in history or a closely related field and be U.S. citizens. The position is open to all candidates who have attained a Ph.D. degree in history or a closely related field, and to advanced doctoral students who expect to be granted their Ph.D. no later than June 2025. Specialization within this subfield is open, but the committee welcomes applicants with expertise in premodern or early modern Middle Eastern history, broadly defined.

Job: Program Coordinator, Yale Program for the Study of Antisemiitism at Yale University, Whitney Humanities Center

The Yale Program for the Study of Antisemitism (YPSA) seeks to cast light on hatred directed against Jews from antiquity to the present. It is currently one of the few programs at an American university dedicated exclusively to analyzing the phenomenon of antisemitism. Since its founding in 2011, it has organized over one hundred events such as lectures and conferences as well as given out thousands of dollars of research funding to Yale faculty and students. It has also hired a series of postdoctoral associates to teach much-needed classes on antisemitism for Yale undergraduates.

Job: Research Associate for the Project “PESHAT in Context”

Duties include academic services in the project named above. Research associates may also pursue independent research and further academic qualifications.

  • research on medieval Hebrew scientific and philosophical terminology:
    • textual studies
    • input and maintenance of research data in the PESHAT database
  • coordination of collaborations with external scholars and other projects on external data input and cooperations in digital humanities
  • organization of and participation in the projects workshops and conferences, publication of research results
