Tenure-track Assistant Professor in Global Sephardi/Mizrahi History, Yale University
The Yale University Department of History and Program in Jewish Studies intend to appoint a tenure-track assistant professor in Global Sephardi/Mizrahi History (1492 to 2000).
Applicants must have expertise in, and be able to teach, the long durée of Sephardi/Mizrahi History including command of the relevant languages and knowledge of the surrounding societies. We welcome applications from historians who already hold teaching positions, as well as recent PhD’s and those who expect their PhD or equivalent degree by the time of appointment.

The Martin Buber Society of Fellows aims at fostering interdisciplinary academic discourse at the highest level among outstanding young scholars (post-doctoral). Candidates who have completed their PhD at an Israeli or German university, as well as citizens of Israel or Germany who have received their PhD in any country, are eligible to apply. Applicants must have their PhD degree in hand no earlier than October 1st, 2019, and no later than July 1st, 2024.1 Application is open for those specializing in all fields of the Humanities and the Social Sciences.2 We are looking for creative humanists and social scientists with broad intellectual horizons. No connection of the subject matter to Jewish studies or Israel is required.

Job: The Wellman Chair in Medieval History
The University od California History Department seeks a historian of any region of Europe (including the Byzantine world) whose period of focus lies between 500 and 1400 CE. The successful candidate will be a senior Associate or Full Professor distinguished by a field-leading research and publication record, as well as a dedicated teacher and mentor. A PhD in history or a related field is required. The search will be open until filled; for full consideration candidates are encouraged to apply by August 15, 2023 when the committee will begin reviewing applications.
